Avenue House is being transformed into a modern commercial office environment where lighting plays a functional and architectural role.

From the outset, lighting was considered in terms of how the spaces would be used, supporting focused work, collaboration and circulation while meeting current workplace performance expectations.

Track lighting has been planned to achieve appropriate task illuminance levels across working areas, with beam angles around the 30-40° range and optical control selected to provide uniform light distribution and limit glare at desk level.

Alongside this, discreet joinery lighting has been integrated at warmer colour temperatures, typically in the 2700-3000K range, to support architectural detailing and introduce visual warmth without competing with the primary task lighting.

A Casambi Bluetooth-based control system, designed and configured by Phil in the Detail Lighting team, enables dimming, scene recall and future adaptability without adding unnecessary complexity to the installation.

Detail Lighting’s involvement from early design supported the client in navigating Westminster Council requirements and coordinating lighting with architectural detailing and on-site constraints.

Ongoing site support and final commissioning allowed light levels, scenes and controls to be fine-tuned in situ, ensuring the completed scheme performs as intended in daily use.

Lighting CPD seminars

Throughout 2026, Detail Lighting will deliver a programme of CPD seminars for architects, designers and consultants. The first being on 17th and 19th March 2026 at Detail Lighting’s London showroom.

The sessions will focus on practical aspects of lighting design and delivery, including de-mystifying lighting principles.
