Detail Lighting’s growth plans take a huge step forward with new warehouse and offices

Architectural lighting specialists Detail Lighting has taken a step forward as part of their growth plans and moved into a larger warehouse and office space in Milton Keynes.

Founded in 2000, Detail Lighting has built a reputation as the go-to lighting design partner for specifiers such as interior designers, architects and property developers.

With the scale of commercial lighting projects growing and with more complex briefs and specifications, Detail Lighting has outgrown its Newport Pagnell premises and has started to move its operation to a new 6500 sq ft site at Quatro Park in the Blakelands area of Milton Keynes.

Conveniently located a stone’s throw from the M1 in Buckinghamshire, Detail Lighting’s new headquarters will offer enhanced accessibility both for order despatches and for visitors to the site.

How will new premises support Detail Lighting’s growth?

As a leading sustainable lighting design brand, Detail Lighting remains focused on innovation and providing an unparalleled customer experience. To continue to offer its expected level of service and genuine value for money, the company needs to develop in size and resources. The new premises will allow them to do that in various ways.

Detail Lighting new warehouse

Increased warehouse space

The 5,000 + sq ft warehouse on the ground floor of the two floor unit will allow for increased stock holding, while more efficient stock despatch processes will result in enhanced service levels for order fulfilment. These improvements will be crucial for providing a responsive service for the anticipated increase in order volumes.

A larger warehouse space will also provide the capacity needed for the development of new product ranges and the design of bespoke lighting fixtures which is where Detail Lighting’s expertise holds most value for its customers. Detail Lighting’s problem solving approach has always been a draw for specifiers, and the new warehouse space will be instrumental in developing the capabilities of the design team even further.

The increased warehouse space will also facilitate the expansion of its technical, engineering and testing capabilities. This is crucial for Detail Lighting to remain ahead of the curve as an industry-leading partner for both customers and collaborators alike.

Increased office space

The open office space on the first floor of the new premises will also be a key element of investment in Detail Lighting’s immediate growth and long-term future. It will allow the company to grow the team to apply increased focus on customer experience and project delivery.

With Detail Lighting’s commitment to sustainable lighting solutions, the extra office space will allow for the expansion of the team with additional expert designers and project managers who will ensure that all possible sustainable lighting design goals are developed and achieved.

The company will move their office operations into the new premises at the start of Quarter 2 2024.

Detail Lighting’s Clerkenwell Studio

Detail Lighting’s London studio is unaffected by the HQ move. Located at 51-53 St John’s Square in the city centre, the studio remains a space where designers, architects and property developers can view first hand a range of installed lighting. This is a valuable space that truly demonstrates how Detail Lighting’s designs can be developed to meet bespoke lighting specifications.
